J&S Montgomery, which covers the west coast of Scotland for Kverneland, has expanded its trading area into Lanarkshire through the purchase of DKR Agricultural Services based at Coulter, near Biggar.

“We are currently working with DKR and its staff to ensure it’s business as usual for all customers and staff, as the Coulter site is integrated into the J&S Montgomery portfolio, to operate alongside our existing premises at Beith, Stranraer and Ayr,” said Douglas Montgomery, dealer principal at the family-run dealership.

DKR Agricultural Services – a business run by David Doig, his sister Susan, and brother Keith – has been trading since 1989 and predominantly serves livestock dairy, and arable farms and contractors.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming customers old and new through the doors at our newly integrated depot based at Coulter, as we increase our trading area for the Kverneland product range,” added Douglas. “We’ll also be holding a launch event at Lanark market on April 17 to introduce our brands to the wider farming community.”

Kverneland managing director Dan Crowe said that the further development of the J&S Montgomery business adds clarity to the distribution of the Kverneland portfolio in this area. “As a result, R&R Machinery – formerly Ross of Lanark – will no longer be part of the Kverneland dealer network.”
