The AF11, the new twin rotor Case IH flagship combine, has been joined by two single rotor models: the AF9 and AF10; and following the Agritechnica 2023 preview, the Axial-Flow 160 and 260 series can now be ordered for the 2025 harvest.
Bringing the total number of models in the two ranges to eight (class six to 10+), the 775hp FPT C16 engine in the AF10 produces the same peak power (775hp) as the AF11, and the C13 engine in the AF9 maxes at 634hp.
Unlike the AF11, which uses the AFXL2 dual rotor, the two additional models come with the AFXL single rotor. 40% longer than the 260 series and providing 50% more separation area than previous rotors, the result, says Case IH, is increased capacity and reducing rotor losses. Grain tank capacity is 16,000l (AF9) and 20,000l (AF10/AF11). Fuel tank capacity is 1300l (AF9) and 1,500l(AF10/11).
Completing the new AF range, the 9 and 10 were unveiled to the North American market at the recent Farm Progress Show (the AF11 was launched earlier this year at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky). We do not know which model will be on display, but the European public debut of the range will be in Italy at EIMA 2024, in November.
Axial-Flow 160 and 260
The 260 series; 498hp 7260 (11,100 or 14,400l grain tank), 571hp 8260 (14,400l), and 634hp 9260 (14,400l), come equipped with advanced dual larger, higher-resolution Pro 1200 terminal displays, offering full connectivity and automated features.
Harvest Command automatically adjusts combine settings based on operator-defined performance criteria. Also included with the new Axial-Flow 160 series (400hp 6160/10,570l grain tank and 460hp 7160/12,500l).
Marco Lombardi, head of Case IH and Steyr brands EMEA said that the Axial-Flow range has been completely renewed in just two years. “With these introductions, Case IH will offer the world’s largest portfolio of rotary combines,” he said. “Now we are extending the simplicity and efficacy of Axial-Flow design into new areas by harnessing technology that will help owners extract even more from their machines.”
