Krone has developed two new versions of its 4.0m EasyCut F400 mower. The first, the EC F400 Fold, has no conditioner but a swathing auger. The second has a rigid cutterbar and integrated roller conditioner.
Based on the EC F400 CV Fold, which won a silver medal at Agritechnica 2019, the EC F400 Fold is fitted with the same patented folding system. Operated from the tractor cab, this reduces the transport width of the cutterbar to 3.0m.
Developed following many years of experience with Big M swathing augers and the EasyCut B 950 Collect butterfly combination with patented folding cutterbar, the 45cm diameter auger swathes the crop (width is adjustable) between the tractor wheels.
The increased productivity from the 4.0m working width is said to be ideal for farms cutting fresh grass every day. Also, when operating within a butterfly combination, it allows users to maximise the working width. For example, when combined with the EC B1000, more than 10m of grass can be knocked down with 57cm overlaps on each side.
Aimed more at large-scale alfalfa growers in the USA and Australia, the EC F400 CR (roller conditioner) is equipped with a rigid cutterbar and a standard conditioning unit consisting of two profiled 25cm-diameter polyurethane rollers.
This model can be combined with the trailed EC TC 400 or 500, both of which can be hooked up to the TC Connect coupling frame.
