The new mobile version of the Vogelsang XSplit slurry separator is aimed at contractors and multi-site farms looking to separate slurry or digestate before application.
Unlike the existing trailer version, where the frame on which it rests is mounted on to a plant trailer, the pumps, Rotacut and controls on the new version are all part of the trailer.
The elevating platform on which the separator is secured is lowered to the ground to increase stability when towing and raised at the work site. The capacity is the same at 50m³/hr.
The weight of the new trailer version has come down a bit to just over 3.0t. 15mm rubber discs seal the whole chamber so operators will not have to form a plug manually. Dry matter content adjustment (up to 40%) is said to be both quick and easy.
“These small but important differences make the XSplit safer, especially for operators who may not be accustomed to using separators,” says Vogelsang’s Andy Hayhurst.
Options include a 4G enabled remote-control system that can be operated using a mobile phone. “The new remote system will enable one operator to use the trailer unit more safely. For greater safety it also features two boxes, one for high and another for low voltage.”
The first demo unit of the new version is expected to arrive in the UK by the middle of this month.
