The Pulsar is claimed as a cost-effective and reliable way to protect any tractor or machine with a Thatcham Category S7 approved tracking solution that could help to reduce insurance premiums.
Available from vehicle tracking and security company Meta Trak, the Pulsar does not require a power source. Instead, power comes from two replaceable batteries, which means it can be used for non-motorised machines, including trailers and balers.
The Pulsar comes with a three-year service package which connects owners to tractors and equipment via the Pulsar app. Said to be intuitive and easy-to-use, multiple assets can be tracked from a single account.
In operation, the Pulsar device remains in sleep mode until daily programmable activation times when it communicates its location to a pc or mobile device. It is possible to add up to three additional wake-up times every 24 hours when the device checks for any pending commands, such as current location update and Geo-Fence breach.
Should the tractor or machine be stolen then its location is relayed to the owner every 60 seconds. Providing 24/7 support, Meta Trak theft management specialists track the machine and liaise directly with the police to help them locate it.
It depends on usage, but the two replaceable batteries are said to last up to three years (notification sent when battery charge is low), which is the same time as the warranty. Offering UK and EU coverage, the Pulsar is fully waterproof (IP67).
The average retail price of a Pulsar unit is £299 (excludes installation). The three year service package (worth £129.95) is included with the initial purchase of the unit.
