The UK and Ireland are both involved in a new European agreement between CNH and Maschio Gaspardo, which will see the Italian manufacturer handle the distribution and supply of New Holland branded mowers, mower conditioners, tedders and rotary rakes, and supply parts and service.

The full details of the deal have yet to surface, and we can imagine there is still much work to do to finalise things. All we can add at this point is that over the next few weeks, Maschio, together with the New Holland representative will approach New Holland dealers to make individual agreements with them and explain how the order process will be handled and in general the support going forward.

Also, in general, we understand that Maschio is free to sell the Maschio branded products through its dealer network. While Maschio can only sell New Holland branded products to the New Holland dealer network.

It would appear to be full steam ahead on the grass machinery front for New Holland, but arable kit is on the back-burner. Following the 2024 sale of the Kongskilde and Overum brands, CNH recently discontinued the distribution of the certain tillage lines (subsoilers and compact disc harrows) sourced from Maschio in an agreement signed towards the end of 2020.

At the Italian EIMA farm machinery show last November, New Holland brand president Carlo Lambro said that if an opportunity arouse, then they would consider it, but for now New Holland is dodging arable machinery.
