The first tyres are in production at the expanded facility at Bhuj in India. BKT says the €95m investment at the plant significantly increases its capacity to meet increasing worldwide demand from the agricultural sector.

Spreading over 4.8ha, the site’s newest extension is expected to reach its full manufacturing capacity of 50,000t within six months.

Located about 60km from the Port of Mundra on the Arabian Sea, the Bhuj facility now covers 131ha. The largest of the BKT’s five Indian tyre production plants, the expanded site is expected to reach maximum production output of over 320t a day and 140,000t a year by 2025.
