The Stratified Layer Technology (SLT) on the Alliance Tyre Group’s Agri Star II radial tractor tyre is designed to increase traction and provide a significantly longer service life.
Each SLT lug comprises two layers with different profiles. The top layer has a single angle profile while the bottom layer comes with a multi angle profile.
When the top layer of the lugs (about 40% of the tread depth) is worn, the new bottom layer comes into action. The claim is that this provides the same traction as a new tyre after 40% wear.
The succession of the two layers is also claimed to ensure good traction and self-cleaning characteristics in the field, and the higher rubber volume in the centre, and enhanced stiffness in conjunction with the new lug design, provide increased comfort, stability and grip on the road, as well as improved anti-skidding and braking capabilities.
Available in a wide range of different sizes, the Agri Star II comes with a D-speed rating (65km/hr), a seven-year warranty and a stubble guard and wear-resistant compound for damage protection.
