The showpiece on the Opico stand is a black and gold 6.0m grass harrow and seeder. The limited-edition paintwork marks a three-decade long partnership with Austrian manufacturer, Hatzenbichler.

Introduced by Opico to the UK market in 1994, Hatzenbichler comb harrows were originally sold into the organic and arable markets as mechanical weeding machines.

The grass harrow itself, which has heavier 7.0mm and 8.0mm tines, was launched in January 1995 after feedback to the Opico sales team lead to thicker tines being developed for grassland work. The spring tine implement proved popular with farmers looking to revitalise their pastures, and the company has sold over 10,000 harrows since 1994.

“Hatzenbichler’s range of grassland and mechanical weeding equipment have been an integral part of the Opico range for 30 years,” says Opico managing director James Woolway. “We’re proud of the successes and results these machines have provided farmers and contractors across the UK over this time. We continue to work closely with their R&D team to ensure that the offering continues to meets the requirements of current and future farming practises”.

Later this spring, the company will be offering a chance to win the use of the 30th anniversary harrow and seeder for a year, and following this, it will be auctioned off for charity.
