A hook-tine rotary cultivator and four-row cup planter (36in rows) combine to create the Baselier FA380W one-pass potato planting rig. Key features are the cultivator’s rubber hull, which is reckoned to reduce tine wear and fuel use, and the planter’s stainless steel moulding hood with hydraulic pressure control. Cambs-based Standen Engineering ships in Baselier kit from the Netherlands, and says the combi outfit will cost UK growers in the region of £40,000 on farm.
