Ferrying cattle from A to B in double-quick time is the primary function of this high-speed, self-lowering stock trailer from Essex-based HM Trailers. Though not immediately obvious, HM reckons one of the 50km/hr trailer’s key features is the way in which the high-speed axles are accommodated within a narrow wheel arch, this maximising the clear internal width within the body and encouraging any reluctant beasts to enter. Another axle bonus is that they are full serviceable — the axles are removable and bushed with grease points — and equipped with air braking along with a manually adjusted load-sensing valve. There’s hydraulic suspension, and on top of that the front axle can be raised for a smoother ride when running empty. In total there are three models in the range, with capacities of 12t (16 cattle), 9.5t (12 cattle) and 6t (nine cattle). Prices are £17,550, £16,550 and £13,950 respectively.
