Kuhn has extended its growing portfolio of mounted ploughs with the on-land Vari-Master L range. Available in four, five or six plough bodies, and designed for use with 200 to 300hp tractors, the new models are compatible with tracked tractors or those equipped with wide flotation tyres.
The company says that the on-land design reduces the effects of drift caused by a change in offset or when working in-furrow. The plough always remains aligned with the direction of travel, is the claim, which not only increases ploughing accuracy, but also reduces fuel consumption and wear and tear.
Manually adjustable skimmers enable tool-free set-up and adjustment of each of the four models, and a shear-bolt safety system (breaks at a force of 1800kg) protects each leg in the event of the skimmer coming into contact with an immovable object.
Hydraulic front furrow adjustment (hydraulic depth adjustment optional) is standard on all models as is the firm’s non-stop auto-reset hydraulic safety system. This can be upgraded with the firm’s Varibar and Maxibar systems which enable share point release pressure to be adjusted on-the-go.
A range of skimmer and deflector options are available to suit different soil types and crops. Retail prices start from £24,590.
