The most important part of the twin-rotor GA 8131CL (8.0m) rake is the 1.8m pick-up.

Mounted on the frame ahead of the rotors, the patented technique lifts and aerates the central material not worked by the two rotors.

Part of the standard spec of the centre-delivery twin-rotor rake, the diameter of the hydraulically-powered pick-up is 480mm. Rotation speed is controlled by a hydraulic valve, and the pick-up is lifted and lowered automatically during headland manoeuvres. Minimum tractor power requirement is 60hp.

The project to develop a solution to get more air into the material started in 2016. A number of systems were considered, including a rotor, but this diverted the material to one side.
