New machinery distributor Reesink Agri has entered the Irish market with Dutch-made Kaweco slurry equipment. The first machine will be on display at Ploughing 2023.

The new Reesink Agri division will run alongside the firm’s existing turfcare division in Nurney Co. Kildare, and while Kaweco also makes silage trailers, for now the focus in Ireland is with its slurry equipment.

Kaweco has made slurry tankers at a facility in the east of the Netherlands at Hengelo since 1969. Specialising in trailed, gooseneck and self-propelled versions it also makes the Opti-Ject and Pro-Ject ranges of grass and arable slurry injectors up to 12m.

Capacities of the Profi I, II and III trailed tanker ranges vary from 10,000 litres (2,200 gallons) to 31,820 litres (7,000 gallons) with single, twin, tandem and tridem axle options available. Trailing shoe applicators are available in widths from 6.0m to 30m and disc injector models range from 5.6m to 12m.

Reesink Agri will bring the Kaweco Profi II with 8.0m Opti-Ject injector to Ploughing 2023 (this and main picture). This range also includes models in widths of 5.6m, 6.4m and 7.2m. Transport width of all is 2.85m.

Splash plate slurry spreading was outlawed in the Netherlands in 1992, and general manager Tomás Cooney of Reesink Agri says that tanker technology and application methods have reached a more advanced level there with 95% of slurry now applied through injection.

“Dutch regulations also oblige farmers to record all slurry application details on a central data base and with regulations also tightening here it is something Irish farmers are also expecting to see introduced in the future,” he comments.

Reesink Agri is part of the Royal Reesink Group. Founded by Hendrik Reesink in 1786, today it employs over 2,500 people in around 40 subsidiaries worldwide.
