John Deere’s 845hp flagship 8800i self-propelled forage harvester, triple mower-conditioner (TCM) and 6M and 6R Series Stage IV tractors will be demonstrated at ScotGrass in May. New features on the 8000 Series include Active Fill Control for automated filling of trailers. Headers include the new 9 Series grass pick-ups, which are automatically speed matched to the selected length of cut. Additional features include a DuraDrum cutterhead with reverse knife sharpening and a ProTouch function for increasing road or harvest speed during field changes. The new TMC consists of a front-mounted and two rear-mounted mower-conditioners. To achieve the maximum cutting width of 9.9m, an F350R 3.5m wide front mower-conditioner can be combined with the largest available R990R rear-mounted units. The combination of the smaller F310R front-mounted mower with either the R950R or R870R rear mowers reduces the cutting width to 9.5 or 8.7m respectively. The company claims the mowers’ new frame design makes them easier to attach and provides better operator visibility. A 6110R Stage IV tractor and 623R front loader combination will also be demonstrated, as will the new 6M Series range-topping 6195M tractor, which is now available with a maintenance-free mechanical cab suspension system.
