The long wait is nearly over. John Deere will hold a ‘live reveal’ webcast of its eagerly-awaited 9RX tractor on Tuesday August 25. The prototype of the four-tracked tractor, which broke cover last autumn at the company’s 2015 product reveal show in Milwaukee, has not been seen since. Even at this year’s French SIMA show John Deere staff remain tight-lipped, but a huge poster on the company’s stand confirmed the plan to unveil the new tractor in Europe at Agritechnica. With the exception of a faint hint of power coming from a 15-litre Cummins QSX 15, and a maximum output of 620hp, the technical details remain under wraps. Hopefully the ‘live reveal’ will provide a few pointers as to what we can expect, and perhaps John Deere is planning to launch the new tractor to the North American market at the Farm Progress Show (September 1-3)?
