Feedback from users of 2015-built versions of Opico’s mounted Micro-Pro Avadex applicator confirmed there was scope to increase boom stability and working speed when travelling across rough land. Opico’s answer comes in the form of more strength and stability in the latest version, with users of 2015-made machines offered a free upgrade to the new spec. The update see twin shock absorbers fitted to a new central boom section. Combined with a new outer section tension bar on each boom and new boom section latches, the company claims the overall effect is to smooth out the ride and keep product application (whether Avadex or slug pellets) even and accurate. Other updates include a re-designed boom stowage plate and lock to further improve the support when folded, and protect the machine against wear and tear in transport. Product manager Angus Steven reckons users should quickly see the improvement in boom cushioning from the new shock absorbers. “They will allow them to work at a maximum application speed, whilst still maintaining the precision they expect from the Micro-Pro 16,” he says.
