The working width of Pöttinger’s Top 1403C flagship four-rotor rake is hydraulically adjustable from 9.0m to 14.0m.
Sharing its hybrid drive technology (front rotors powered hydraulically and the rear mechanically) with the smaller Top 1252C, the amount of rotor pressure adjusts automatically depending on the working width. Claimed benefits of this include reduced rotor wear and extended maintenance intervals.
The Top 1403C comes as standard with automatic overlap control. Based on the angle of the headstock and selected swath width, the front rotor automatically retracts when turning to ensure it overlaps with the rear rotor.
The front rotor automatically extends to the selected working width when the rake straightens. The amount of overlap is displayed on the operating terminal and the company says it is not necessary to have a steering angle sensor on the tractor.
A five-wheel chassis with anti-wrap guards is standard on each rotor, and the tandem axles and rotor angle are adjustable.
