Horsch turnover increased 12% last year to €402 million, the highest level ever for the family-owned business.
The third successive year of double-digit growth (2016 €300 million/+22%; 2017 €356 million/+19%), Germany and Eastern Europe remain key markets. The company reports increasing sales of machines in Brazil, China and the US; and business in France, Scandinavia and the UK developed well.
New products continue to play a major role, and at Agritechnica later this year, the company plans to not only present innovations in its current product ranges, but also new ‘hybrid’ technologies combining the best of organic and conventional farming.
Continued investment in its manufacturing facilities (a record €30 million in 2018) is also cited as another reason for the continued success. A new assembly hall was finished at Ronneburg, where the Terrano, Pronto and Joker are assembled, the capacity at the crop sprayer facility in Landau was almost tripled, and €23 million was invested at company headquarters in Schwandorf (Germany).
