Hi-Spec Engineering will launch a new high-capacity slurry pump at this week’s Livestock Event. Called the HS385, unlike the existing lower capacity, three-point mounted HS450, the HS385 is a two-point lower linkage mounted pump. Hydraulically raised and lowered into the tank without removing the PTO shaft, the design is based around a heavy duty support frame and incorporates a safety platform to fully cover the tank when lowered in the working position. Designed to meet the needs of contractors and larger livestock farmers, the new pump, which requires a tractor of at least 110hp, has an output of around 3800 gallons per minute (17,000 litres/minute). The fully galvanised construction is fitted with a quick change top fill outlet, and Hi-Spec says the spout can be quickly and easily adjusted and operates over a wide arc for thorough agitation and mixing. As an option, the HS385 can also be specified with a hydraulic extension function that allows the working depth to be altered from the tractor seat.
