After a two-year gap the FTMTA farm machinery show is back on the agenda. The two-day summer event will take place at the Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co Kildare on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 July 2022.
The FTMTA (Farm Tractor & Machinery Traders Association), which has been organising farm machinery shows for over 30 years, traditionally runs two different events on a biannual basis; the farm machinery show in Punchestown in February and then grass & muck in May on alternate years. The last show was the farm machinery event in Punchestown in February 2019. All subsequently planned shows fell victim to covid.
“After internal discussions with our executive council and external discussions with Punchestown it was agreed that we would hold an outdoor summer show for 2022,” comments FTMTA executive director Michael Farrelly. “We felt that it was our best option to guarantee a successful and safe show this year. It would be our intention going forward to return to our normal show dates.”
All of the leading Irish and international manufacturers active in the Irish market will have a presence at the summer show, which will be similar in size and number of exhibitors to the February show in Punchestown in 2019, which was the largest ever with 170 exhibitors and over 20,000 visitors.
“As this year’s static stands will be outdoors we expect stand sizes to increase and increased areas will be offered to exhibitors. Smaller shell stands will be catered for in marquees.”
“We have had very strong interest from exhibitors since the announcement of the show dates and with the fantastic infrastructure in Punchestown we can easily expand the show area. A new addition to the show this year is plant used by farm contractors. We already have three plant dealerships/brands confirmed for the show.”
