The French SIMA show is still on but many of the big names in the farm machinery world are planning ahead to Agritechnica. This is certainly true on John Deere’s SIMA show stand and a huge poster announcing the new 9RX (X = four tracks) is coming in November 2015. The company remains tight-lipped but the date is clear proof the eagerly-awaited tractor will be on display at the Hanover Fairgrounds. The 9RX first broke cover last autumn at the company’s 2015 product reveal show in Milwaukee. Once it is released John Deere will be the only company to offer all three types of drive systems in the 4wd tractor segment – wheels, two tracks and four tracks. For now though, other than a faint hint the top model 9RX could take its power from a 15-litre Cummins QSX 15, the technical details and commercial availability remain very much under wraps.
