The Minsk Tractor Works (MTW) recently celebrated the production of the four-millionth tractor. The milestone model, a 212hp 2022.3, left the assembly line on the timely date of February 22, 2022.
Staff knew the plant was on target to produce tractor number 4,000,000 early this year, hence the model number, but it was a pleasant surprise that the 2022 was on the assembly line on 22/02/2022.
The first Belarus tractor was produced in 1946. The one-millionth, an MTW-52, left the line at the beginning of November in 1972. Returned to the factory in 2005 and restored to its original condition, the tractor stands in a small building near the Belarus shop and museum at the Minsk facility. Parked alongside the two-millionth tractor, a MTW-82 made in 1978, we enjoyed seeing both on a visit to the plant early 2019 (Full report Profi 6, 2019).

The search for the three-millionth Belarus tractor continues. Made in 1995, it is believed to reside in Germany. MTW would very much like to track it down and bring it back to Minsk to join the other milestone models.
The four-millionth tractor should ultimately be easier to trace. The jubilee model is off to a state-owned farm in the Mogilev region of Belarus.
