It has taken a while, but the folding front mower cutterbar previewed by Krone at Agritechnica 2019, will make its UK debut at LAMMA 2022.
Described as a world first for a disc mower, the maximum working width of the EasyCut F400CV Fold is 4.04m. Suitable for set-ups with a mounted/trailed rear mower or a butterfly combination, the folding sequence is activated from the cab.
A hydraulic slewing gearbox folds the two outer discs into the space between the tractor wheels to reduce the width of the mower to under 3.00m for transport. The driveline remains connected and the discs stay in the cutting position.
In the field, the discs fold back and are hydraulically locked in the working position. The side guards are then lowered. Krone says the wider working width not only eliminates the risk of the tractor running on cut grass, but also stripes of uncut grass.
