With LAMMA behind us the farm machinery world has quickly turned its attention to SIMA. While most of the big names in the business are keeping their hot news firmly under wraps until February 22, some others are keen to reveal all. This includes Belgian-firm AVR, and if you missed it at LAMMA then SIMA will provide another opportunity to see the latest version of its Spirit 9200 WB two-row trailed bunker harvester. The Spirit will be joined by the recently-launched Puma 3 four-row self-propelled harvester. The successor to the popular Puma +, this third generation Puma is the first AVR self-propelled harvester to carry a Stage IV emissions-compliant engine, and a 12.8lit Volvo that peaks at 469hp. Also new is the folding version of the company’s GE-Force cultivator. Now available in working widths of up to 6m, the newcomer is aimed at growers seeking a high capacity one-pass machine. Currently making around 150 harvesters, 250 cultivators and 100 haulm toppers a year, AVR has an annual turnover of around €45 million.
