Improved baling speed, quality and efficiency are claimed for a new version of Kuhn Farm Machinery’s FB 2135 fixed chamber round baler. Called the FB 2135 MKII, it is available with two different intake rotors (Optifeed or Opticut 14), both of which share the same 2.30m pick-up width. This latest baler features company’s Pendulum pick-up system. This gathers the densest of swaths at fast forward speeds, and the height adjustable guide wheels are designed to accurately carry the pick-up over even the roughest fields. Fitted with 14 steel rollers, Kuhn says the Powertrack system results in reliable bale rotation with the minimum of stoppages, while the Integral Rotor ensures even the heaviest crops are forced through the intake at higher forward speeds. The FB 2135 MKII also features the hydraulic Powerlock rear door cylinders, and the intake unit is protected by a main PTO clutch which is automatically activated if a blockage occurs. In addition, the complete cutting floor – including the knives – can be lowered to allow blockages to be cleared. “Reliability, bale quality and bale density are fundamental to the efficiency of all baling operations,” explains UK sales manager Duncan McLeish. “Every minute counts when weather conditions are uncertain so the FB 2135 has been updated to provide improvements in all aspects of baling.”
