The 2,750l capacity of Claydon’s new Evolution front hopper is split 45/55%. The new unit will be at LAMMA 2025.

Pressurised to ensure reliable high-volume material delivery to the rear distribution heads, twin metering units deliver either mixed or separated seed/fertiliser flows to the rear-mounted drill.

A simple airline box selector diverts the flow of material to the distribution pipes or combines the total output into one pipe, and the ISObus compatible hopper is supplied with small, medium or large diameter interchangeable metering wheels to suit a range of seeds and fertilisers. An ISOcan terminal controls all front hopper functions and allows variable rate seeding, depending on the task controller and licence key.

Weighing 730kg, the hopper is 2.4m wide x 1.8m high and is 1.6m long. Two hopper sensors provide ‘low level’ and ‘empty’ warnings, and there are work lights, two road vision cameras, a toolbox and foldable front footstep. Options include 550kg of ballast, plus packer wheels with passive steering and wheel scrapers.

The Evolution hopper will be on the Claydon stand at LAMMA in January, along with a 4.0m version of the Evolution drill toolbar with twin-tine fertiliser placement. Also available in widths of 3.0m, 4.5m, 4.8m, 5.0m, and 6.0m, the toolbar can be used in conjunction with the Evolution front hopper.

David Furber, Claydon’s sales manager for the UK and ROI, says that the new Evolution drill toolbar and front hopper, showcase the company’s ability to offer flexible seed/fertiliser placement, meeting the requirements of the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) schemes and growing companion crops.

“The fact that also we have this option available on our 3.0m M3F Evolution and 6.0m T6 trailed drills demonstrates how we can offer farmers the option of generating additional income through the SFI, with ideal seed placement.”

Other kit on the Claydon stand will include a mole drainer, the 6.0m T6 Hybrid trailed drill, a 3.0m M3F Evolution mounted drill with grain and fertiliser, and a 9.0m straw harrow.
