With 200 Katana self-propelled forage harvesters now out at work, Fendt feels the time is right to further strengthen its growing portfolio. This is very unlikely to be the machine in question, but we can reveal the German manufacturer is preparing to unveil its very first forage wagon as part of a plan to be a full liner. Speaking at a Fendt SIMA show press meeting in Paris this week, AGCO top man Martin Richenhagen comments a forage wagon is a focus. “I will be very surprised if a Fendt forage wagon does not win an Agritechnica Gold Medal,” he says. The first public appearance would appear to be confirmed, but we will have to wait until nearer the time to see whether the company is planning to buy in a forage wagon, or develop one of its own.
