In addition to traditional net tying, Vicon’s FastBale non-stop round baler-wrapper combination is now available with film-on-film capability. Film tying is exactly the same as net tying – only the material used to secure the bale is different.

The revised process sees the bale tied with film before it leaves the chamber. Thanks to film’s pre-stretch capabilities, the film-on-film process reduces bale expansion as it leaves the chamber. This creates a denser bale than the net-wrapped equivalent, says Vicon, and trapping less oxygen inside the bale improves forage quality. Additional benefits include waste recycling. Disposal requires users only to deal with plastic as a single waste stream instead of a combination of plastic with net.

The revised film-on-film injection system can also be used with rolls of net. Including rolls in use, the FastBale can carry up to 10 rolls of bale wrap, plus two rolls of either net or film for tying.
