One of the show-stoppers on the Farmhand stand at the Ploughing event later this month will be the bespoke self-propelled high-speed version of the Amazone ZG-TS 10001 (10t) Profis fertiliser spreader.
Mated to a 330hp 6X6 Mercedes Acros truck and dubbed the AmaTruck, the combination was designed by Farmhand demonstrator Declan Smyth, who has had the idea since Amazone started offering the ZG-TS spreader as a de-mount option.
“We modified the truck to mount the Amazone ZG-TS 10-ton spreader, including changing out the standard wheels to 600/50/22.5 on the rear for low ground pressure and 445/65/22.5 on the front for extra traction,” comments Declan. New hydraulics were also fitted, along with new wiring looms to power the spreader, which will be starting a demo tour next spring. “It’s been an exciting project from start to finish.”
The all-black version of the Krone Big X 1180 will be another striking machine on the Farmhand stand. On loan from Hillcrest Farms, you will have to be quick but 60 limited-edition 1:32- scale models finished with the same custom paintwork as the real machine are up for grabs. Each one costs €350.
Other machinery on display on the farmhand stand will include the Amazone ZA-V mounted GPS section control spreader, Krone rear mounted mowers, front linkages and PTOs from Zuidberg, Q-Series front loaders from Quicke and the latest addition to the range of brands available from Farmhand; Flexxaire reversible fan systems.
