Production of Kaweco branded slurry injectors, tankers and silage trailers will end on 31 December 2024.

The sad news comes from Royal Reesink, which has just announced that the operations of its Dutch subsidiary Reesink Production (mainly active under the Kaweco brand name) will be discontinued at the end of this year.

Well known both in its homeland and overseas for its slurry tankers and grass and arable land slurry injectors, Kaweco has a long history of transforming the Claas Xerion to a dedicated slurry machine (See link).

The operation has been loss-making for some time, and the current conditions in the agricultural machinery market have further negatively affected the results. With insufficient prospects for improvement, Royal Reesink began searching for a buyer for the ailing business earlier this autumn.

After failing to find an interested party, the discontinuation of Reesink Production is said to be the only responsible route. Production at the Dutch factory in Hengelo has been scaled back, and only service and warranty work will be carried out until the end of this year.

Reesink Production does not yet want to comment about the future of the employees at the factory, and Royal Reesink remains the owner of the Kaweco brand name and property. ‘But if a party comes along that wants to take it over, we are open to that,’ states the company in a press release.

Kamps de Wild and Co was officially founded on May 1, 1919. The Kaweco brand (an abbreviation of Kamps de Wild and Co) was born in 1963. Last year, new machinery distributor Reesink Agri entered the Irish market with Kaweco slurry equipment at Ploughing 2023 (See link).
