At the last Agritechnica, German profi celebrated its 30th anniversary. Thirty years of profi also mean 30
years of Manfred Neunaber, who founded profi way back in 1989. As editorinchief, Manfred has been instrumental in making profi the world’s leading farm machinery magazine

It was Manfred Neunaber, a farmer’s son and agricultural machinery editor at Top Agrar since 1977, who, along with his then editor-in-chief Heinz-Günther Topüth, came up with the idea of creating a special farm machinery magazine in the mid-1980s. “Farm equipment is becoming increasingly complex, and all buyers need independent information before they invest in an expensive tractor or implement,” the two colleagues agreed. The fruit of their labour was introduced at Agritechnica 1989 — back then the show was still being staged in Frankfurt — when the first issue of profi appeared featuring the now ‘classic’ Case IH Magnum 7120 model.
