The possibility to operate a front-mounted fertiliser spreader is an interesting one, says Amazone, particularly for those users who are looking to spread two different types of fertiliser in one pass. However, the spreading unit on front-mounted versions is not directed to the rear, but to the front, meaning the operator has to think of everything as a mirror image.
Help is at hand in the form of newly-developed software where the spreading functions on the firm’s ZA-V or ZA-TS are displayed in reverse when front-mounted. The option offers the opportunity to set up each spreader optimally, says the company, and even when side, border or water course spreading, the spreader can be switched on at the correct side without any problem.
The software also mirrors the optional SwitchPoint on/off points. That means, on a front-mounted spreader, that the spread fan is pushed ahead of the machine so that the relevant switching point has to be positioned further in front of the spreader. Front-mounted spreaders are available with a lighting kit consisting of front side lamps and additional headlights.
