The number one feature of the Bomech UP trailing shoe injector is the flexibility to be able to use it with a slurry tanker or attach it directly behind the tractor with an umbilical hose.
Described by the Dutch manufacturer as the ultimate solution for small slurry tankers, the UP, which is available in widths of 6.0m, 7.5m, 9.0m and 10.5m, is a reaction to increasing farmer demand to be able to use a lightweight umbilical hose when the going gets too tough for a tanker.
The possibility to use the same trailing shoe injector for both systems is made possible by the new headstock. Fitting and removal of this unit to a slurry tanker is said to be an easy job for a telehandler or loader.
Bomech says the location of the swivel point on the headstock just behind the trailing shoe elements results in good maneauverability and field contour following performance is not affected by the drag force of the hose.
The newly developed and patented Field Contour System (FCS) ground tracking system allows the trailing shoes to adapt the ground contours independent to the tractor. Claimed benefits include good ground tracking in even the most challenging conditions and the kinematics always generate the optimum angle of the trailing shoes and active pressure on them. The trailing shoe elements are raised clear of the ground at the headland to allow the drag hose to move freely below it.
The UP, as the name suggests, folds vertically behind the tanker (all other Bomech trailing shoe injectors fold to the side). The outer transport width is 2.55m and height is below 3.50m. The side arms are hydraulically locked for transport. The headstock can be fitted with a volume flow meter.
