Dewulf’s Field Loader 240 allows up to 150tph of potatoes to be cleaned in the field before loading into a truck or trailer.
The Belgian company says that this drastically reduces the amount of soil and waste in the crop, reducing the possibility of price deductions when delivering potatoes directly to the factory.
Supported on five hydraulic legs, preparing the 240 for action is said to take just a few minutes. The opening between the 10 cleaning rollers is electrically adjustable and the optional Smart-Pin ensures that cleaning occurs at a constant capacity. The inspection table provides space for two people and the integrated swivelling waste conveyor (max. discharge height 1.83m) deposits sieved-out soil and waste alongside the machine.
Providing 120 degrees of swing radius, the four-piece 1.1m-wide potato discharge elevator reaches to 5.6m at the maximum height of 5.4m. Active side plates and soft flights result in a gentle crop handling, and if the discharge elevator is placed at too steep an angle then the transfer combi automatically switches off to prevent falling product.
Transport dimensions are just over 11.0m long x 3.0m wide x 4.0m high. Optional equipment includes a steered axle and a built-in 30kVA (80dBA) diesel power pack. The 240 can also be plugged into the mains. The first public outing of the machine, which can also work in onions, will be at next week’s Dutch potato event.
