Tractor and self-propelled machine makers are currently swapping Stage IIIB/Tier 4i power packs for Stage IV/Tier 4f compliant versions, but engine manufacturers are already working on the next stage. The details are limited but we can confirm Deutz will use next month’s Intermat 2015 – one of Europe’s largest construction machinery shows – to announce its engines already meet the EU Stage V emissions standard expected to apply from 2019. All the company is prepared to disclose this side of the show is that the engines meet the requirements (reduction in particulate numbers) using a highly advanced exhaust after treatment system. Intermat 2015 runs from 20 to 25 April and takes place at the same Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre as the recently-held SIMA show.
