John Deere was the best-selling tractor brand in the UK in 2021, but when all manufacturers are lumped together CNH secured pole position with 4,037 (New Holland 2,682/Case IH 1,355) of the 14,071 new tractors registered and a 28.7% share of the market.
John Deere secured second spot with 3,558 (25.3%) units, and in third place was AGCO with 3,087 tractors and a 21.9% share of the total market. Good for 1,530 units (10.9%), Massey Ferguson was the best-selling AGCO brand in the UK in 2021, followed by Fendt (911 units/6.5%) and Valtra (646 tractors/4.6%).
In fourth place was Kubota (947 units/6.7%), the nearest rival being Claas with 557 tractors and a 4.0% share of the market. In the other top 10 spots are JCB (261/4.0%), Same Deutz Fahr (257/1.8%) and Agri Argo – McCormick (131/0.9%) and Landini (69/0.5%). Other brands made up 1,167 (8.3%) of the total.
These figures cover all power bands, including compact tractors below 50hp, and as always, competition law restrictions mean that AEA is not able to publish market share figures for tractors until 12 months have elapsed.
