Horsch has taken many of the new features from the large-scale Sprinter NT drill and packaged them in the mounted 6.25SL (6.0m) and trailed 12.25SC (12m) models. The more compact format is said to be better suited to the UK. A number of pre-series machines will be available next year.
With a 25cm row spacing, and suitable for direct or mulch seeding, tine coulter options include the Ultra ThinEdge (12mm wide seed band for minimum soil movement), the ThinEdge (21mm wide seed band/ideal for sowing cover crops directly into stubbles), and the WideEdge (110mm wide seed band).
Equipped with a 6,300l twin hopper (triple tank or additional MiniDrill options on the way), the hopper design on the 12.25SC is based on that of the new Avatar 8.25 and can apply up to four components.
With a coulter pressure up to 180kg, the hydraulically pre-stressed tines ensure a high clearance between frame and surface and between the seed coulters. The tines are individually depth controlled with a press wheel and the three-bar tine section and 25cm tine spacing is said to result in straw- and clod-free drilling.
The 12m drill folds to a transport width and height of 3.0m and 4.0m, respectively.
The 6.25SL (3.0m transport width) can be combined with the Partner 1600 or 2000 FT front tanks to create a manoeuvrable mounted drill setup, which is said to be ideal for working in wetter conditions, on light and medium soils, and in small fields.
Fitted with the same three-bar tie section and 25cm spacing as the SC, the tines of the 6.25SL are hydraulically pre-stressed and retractable and are individually depth controlled with press wheel.
