It is too late to help with the autumn workload, but if you are seeking some no-frills six-pot articulated muscle for next season then how about this 325hp Ford Versatile 946? One of two classic articulated stars at a forthcoming Clarke & Simpson auction, the other is a 213hp Case IH 4494.
Registered in 1990, the Cummins-powered Ford Versatile 946 is an uncommon sight in UK fields. This 5,207-hour version has been recently serviced and the 800/70 R38 tyres are 30% worn.
Made at the Racine plant in Wisconsin from 1984 to 1987, the Case IH 4494 is even rarer as it was never officially sold in the UK. Registered in May 1987, this 8,031-hour tractor comes with a rear linkage, original owner’s manual and a brochure. The 650/60 R38 tyres are 10% worn.
More modern classics include an 1994-made Ford 8340 (8,895 hours), an 11,781-hour Case IH 956XL (1988), a 7,626-hour 1996 Fendt 395GHA tool carrier, a 2000-built New Holland TM150 (11,839 hours) and a 2001 John Deere 7810 (9,874 hours).
A 2014 John Deere 8360R with 8,352 hours on its clock has also been entered for the auction. It stands on 800/70 R38 rear and 750/55 R30 front boots, and comes with ILS and the AutoPowr gearbox.
The timed auction of over 1,300 lots will be held at the Clarke & Simpson’s auction centre at Campse Ashe, near Wickham Market in Suffolk.
Viewing days are Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Monday 8 November from 9am to 4pm. Bidding opens at 9am on Wednesday November 3 and closes a week later.
