Krone has developed a clamp for its VariPack and VariPack Plus balers to prevent bales from rolling down slopes.
The speedy ejection of a bale is viewed as a big plus of the VariPack. The drawback is that bales can roll away when the tailgate is opened on a slope. The hydraulically operated clamp is designed to prevent this by securing the bale leaving the chamber. The tractor driver can release it on flatter land.
Attracting interest from farms in mountainous areas of southern Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France, the clamp can be retrofitted to existing machines.
