The 740, the latest addition to the Trion 700 series (or at least it is if you live outside of the UK), is offered in the same three configurations as existing models: namely standard, with Terra Trac tracks or as the Montana for working on hillsides.
For certain markets, this will slot into the range between the existing Trion 730 and 750, the APS hybrid threshing system (1.42m wide drum) and 4.2m long and 57cm diameter single rotor in the 740 is paired with a 435hp 8.9l Cummins engine that can run on HVO biodiesel.
“Customers from regions in Europe that experience variable harvesting conditions have requested more engine power than is currently provided by the Trion 720 and Trion 730 hybrid machines”, explains Philipp Stiens, global product team manager large and medium combines.
“The combination of the proven APS threshing unit and Roto Plus single rotor is ideally suited to regions where harvesting conditions are often unfavourable and highly variable. This is the case in parts of the UK and Ireland, as well as in Scandinavia, Northern Germany, Northern France and the Baltic States.”
Flagged up as a powerful alternative in the medium hybrid class for challenging harvesting conditions with moist, long and tough straw, the 740 is equipped with the Cemos driver assistance system.
This can be set up to include Cruise Pilot, Auto Crop Flow (prevents overloads), Auto Slope (automatic adjustment of fan speed on slopes), and Auto Threshing, Auto Separation and Auto Cleaning should make life easier for the operator.
Header options include Cerio auger versions up to 9.30m, Vario auger and Convio and Convio Flex belt headers up to 12.30m, and the new Rovio maize headers with six to 12 rows.
The 11,000l or 12,000l capacity grain tank empties at the rate of 110 or 130l/s and the outer width on 800/70 R38 tyres or tracks is 3.49m (3.29m with 680/80 R38 boots).
The Trion 740 is connected to Claas connect free of charge for five years. This allows users to monitor, analyse, and store machine data in real-time. Yield data can also be converted into crop maps.
