The auctioneer sold over £11.8m of tractors and farm machinery in Q3 2021, across the monthly sale at Sutton in Cambridgeshire and via on site sales across the country.
At the company’s monthly machinery sales, the total for the quarter of £7.2m was down on the £9.4m grossed during the second three months of this year. The drop is blamed on lower stock levels and large numbers of potential buyers being preoccupied with harvest throughout the summer months.
On average, over 45% of sales were to overseas buyers, with the most active countries buying in the quarter including Bulgaria, Ireland, Romania, Poland and Sudan.
Cheffins hosted 11 on site auctions in Q3 across the UK, with the sale of over 2,200 lots of machinery totalling £4.6m. Sales took place in Yorkshire, Devon and throughout East Anglia and the Midlands.
The highest price paid was £210,112 for a 1983 County 1474 (main picture) at the Shrubbs farm collection in Essex. On the modern side, a 2016 Claas Lexion achieved £138,500 at an on site sale in Cambridgeshire.
The top tractor lots for the quarter at the monthly sales included £50,000 for a 2019 John Deere 6120M; £45,500 for a John Deere 6195R and £49,500 for a New Holland T7.315.
