The emphasis at this year’s Amatechnical technical field day and open house is away from the traditional formal seminars and crop trials visits and an overview of new kit in the yard, to a different format of getting that new and shiny kit dirty in the field. Held at the companys Education, Training and Research facility at Orchard Farm, near Doncaster, the one-day event on Thursday May 26 will provide visitors with an opportunity to see the complete range of Amazone kit in action. This includes the Cirrus 4003-2C grain and fertiliser drill, Cayron 200-100 ploughs and ZA-TS Argus Twin fertiliser spreader ahead of their launch at Cereals. The Pantera 4502 self-propelled will also be there as well as UF and UX sprayers and the full spreader range on tractors and in the tramline. With standing crop to play in, the full range of sprayers and spreaders will be open for a test drive, and the company promises to have some ‛exceptionally well-priced’ ex-demonstration machinery there to have a look at as well.

Indoors there will be a full ISOBUS and precision farming clinic with representatives from the major electronic suppliers on hand to answer challenging technical questions. With thoughts turning towards the National Spreader Testing Scheme, there will also be an opportunity to study some spreader testing scenarios, including conventional tray testing as well as a working demonstration of the new ArgusTwin radar spread pattern sensing system.

Running from 10am through to 5pm, refreshments are on offer throughout the day. More details from www.amazone.co.uk
