It has just been announced by AGCO that Chandlers will purchase the Lister Wilder agricultural business, making it the largest AGCO dealer in the UK.
Chandlers has five depots dotted across Lincolnshire as well as outlets in Bedfordshire and Leicestershire from where it sells Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra. Lister Wilder has premises in Ashford, Bristol, Cirencester, Devizes, Guilford, Reading, Southam and the company headquarters is located in Wallingford.
The statement points out that both of the family owned businesses have also held the Kubota franchise for groundscare equipment and Lister Wilder also sold Kubota construction equipment in the south east of England.
With the blessing of AGCO, Chandlers is now taking on the Lister Wilder agricultural business and from January 4th next year will operate from the Bristol, Cirencester, Devizes, Southam and Wallingford depots. All Chandlers depots will be dedicated Massey Ferguson or Fendt/Valtra to meet the demands of AGCO’s Route 66 plans to separate Massey from the other two brands.
The move will allows Lister Wilder to take on the full Kubota agricultural, groundscare and construction equipment lines. It will continue to operate from Ashford, Guildford and Reading depots while cohabiting for the interim period at Bristol, Cirencester and Southam until it finds new sites.
The statement goes on to say that both companies believe that this arrangement is mutually beneficial, allowing each enterprise to continue to invest in the very best of facilities, and in their respective teams going forward, to provide the highest level of customer service for their respective brands
