Vicon’s iXter B mounted sprayers now come with the option of electrically operated boom recirculation and electric nozzle control. Priced at £9,000 depending on boom width, the so-called iXflow-E system’s key component is a Hypro ProStop-E nozzle body. This has a 1/4-turn ball valve, rather than a solenoid valve, for claimed better reliability.  “Previously we just had a flow-based prime and purge system for the mounted sprayers,” explains Vicon’s David Furber. “To get boom recirculation on the mounted machines, the alternative would have been to go for an air system, but this wouldn’t have been as neat or compact as what we’ve achieved with the electrically operated iXflow-E.”
