For about £15,000 less than its mainstream Trailblazer line, Knight Farm Machinery is now marketing the entry-level Xplorer range of trailed sprayers. Polyethylene tank sizes are 3,000 or 4,000 litres, and spray boom widths extend from 12 to 28m. And there’s no shortage of overall spec: electro-hydraulic self-levelling booms, auto-recirculating prime and purge, 300-litre/min Bertolini diaphragm pump, leaf/air machine suspension and an auto-steering axle. Main savings are reckoned to come from the Xplorer’s use of an Arag controller and control valves rather than the more expensive Müller alternatives found on the higher spec Trailblazer. Expect a 3,300-litre/24m Xplorer to be priced at around £50,000.
