Yorkshire-based Manterra was showing a strip-till rotovator that it is now bringing into the UK. Made by Swiss firm Baertschi, the 3m OekoSem employs soil-loosening tines spaced either 700mm or 750mm apart to break open the soil down to a depth of between 200mm-350mm. Alongside this, pairs of rotovator tines almost straddling the leg create a strip of tilth 5cm to 15cm deep. Because of their position directly alongside the leg, they are said to aid in trashy conditions, actively pulling crop residue through the machine.
