Sands Agricultural Machinery is debuting its largest ever self-propelled sprayer, the Horizon 6000. Boasting a 6,000-litre capacity tank and boom widths up to 36m, the new Sands flagship carries most of the same spray gear as the firm’s slightly smaller 5500 model, albeit wrapped around a larger tank. The key difference is in the skid unit, which is beefed up to cope with the extra weight and powered by a bigger 242hp Deutz Stage IV engine through new Poclain wheel motors. The cab is the same Category IV filtration unit as on the 5500. The first Horizon 6000s are due to appear on farms later this summer, and they list at around £190,000.
