Carr’s Billington has taken on the Merlo agricultural franchise in Cumbria and the North-East. The new dealer will represent the brand from its depots in Carlisle, Hexham and Morpeth.

Bringing the total of Merlo agricultural dealers to 36 with over 50 points of sale and service across the UK, Carr’s will handle sales and repairs and stock a wide range of fast-moving parts. Carr’s Billington is a Can-Am, Corver, Horsch, Krone, Moore Uni-Drill, Yanmar and Weidemann dealer, and main agent for Massey Ferguson.

Commenting on the addition of the Merlo franchise, machinery director Tom Jobling says taking it on follows a thorough evaluation of suppliers and key brands. “We are excited to add the Merlo product range to fill a gap and strengthen our portfolio,” he comments, adding that the Merlo agreement is a significant addition to the range.

“This partnership represents Merlo’s continued commitment to strengthening its dealer network, and providing agricultural customers, across the North of England with strong and comprehensive coverage,” adds Owen Buttle, national sales manager at Merlo UK.

“Carr’s will serve a diverse region, supporting everything from sheep farmers to mixed and arable operations,” adds Mr Buttle. “They’ll be promoting our full range of Merlo products. We anticipate that the new TF30.7 will be a big success, especially as it replaces the popular P32.6 model in Cumbria area.”
