The new staggered drum option improves threshing and increases the capacity by as much as 10% on the Stage V versions of New Holland Agriculture’s CX7 and CX8 combine ranges.
Suitable for all small grains and maize, the staggered drum design achieves a smoother crop flow that results in lower in-cab noise, reduced blockages and lower fuel consumption, claims the company. Another new feature is the low-speed drum kit, which allows the drum speed to be reduced for an even lower instance of cracked grain.
The new models have additional controls, and the operator can now manage the rotary separator and sieve opening, from the cab. The speed of the new and patented air-based distribution system for the twin-disc chaff spreader is also controlled from the cab, as is switching between chopping and swathing.
Other new productivity enhancing features include the header height control with pressure sensor input on the AutoFloat III for better ground following in uneven terrain.
A stone trap sensor alerts the operator if it has been left open, and the colour of the grain tank has changed to yellow to improve visibility from the cab, making it easier for the operator to check grain quality.
